Ko-K-Yo Foundation is working to provide educational opportunities to the women and children of two villages of the Afar region so that they may reach their full potential. 

In addition to a space where the children can learn reading, writing, and math, the Foundation will provide free training and microloans to the women who are interested in developing small businesses.

Our first project - A Place to Learn - which fixed the existing, crumbling school building was a huge success, such that our attendance numbers tripled! However, this also means that we need more classrooms as, once again, the students are either having their lessons outside under the hot sun or waiting for a turn in the classroom. We need $18,000 to build a block of 3 classrooms and have raised more than half of that amount. Please join us in building literacy in the Afar!
